Hide it from my wife.
I'm a go type of person. F-bodies already look kick ass. You have a ws-6 so you have one of the best looking f-bodies ever produced. I wouldn't worry about the looks side of it and make that mother scream.

If you just want to dump it in the car, idk. WS6's are already nice, and I wouldn't get an aftermarket hood or hatch cuz they are already beautiful. If you get a black WS6 I'd get the smoked/gray C6 Z06's, not black because it makes the tires look brown compared to it. Tints - $150. MP3 H-U with new speakers and 2 10's would be nice. I always listen to music and hate flipping through CD's, and might as well get subs and new speakers to get out the shitty sound quality of stocker than stock. Don't waste your money on a Borla, it's too expensive and not really worth it unless you have a lot of money to spend. I'd get a Magnaflow, since they flow at the same rate as Borla and have a medium-balanced tone so you won't be waking up your neighbors (unless you wanna ). Although I'm not an internal specialist, I think a stock motor can support a pretty hefty cam already, and heads are expensive. If you wan't to battle the law a bit, I would get Pacesetters coated LT's and ORY, because It'll support the cam to flow out the exhaust out better, and may actually be a better HP buy than a heads/cam package on a stock motor. If your getting new tires, a cam, or LTs its a must to have a proffesional tune, so save $350 or don't expect much from your mods (or in the tire case, a very off speedometer).
You are not too off from my age range, so I would keep in mind if you will be able to pay for insurance and a possible break-down. I bought my Z with 48000 miles a year and a 1 1/2 years ago, drove it for 13000 miles so far, and went through an alternator, water pump, transmission, and ignition. These set-backs put me in a hole lately, and if I saw it coming I wouldn't have spent $1000 on my car.

black- 01-02 WS6 soon
Im in a really good position to modify the car cause when I get back Ill fork out the 1400 for the 6month insurance so Im covered. Cause in 6months when I come back Ill be leaving for another 6 month deployment. Ill store the car and bank another $10k and finish the mods in 07. Im getting about $10k on this deployment and Im taking a loan out of 14k for the car and the rest to support my power trip.
Performance wise I was going to get subframes first, tranny cooler, LCA, Panhard,373 gears and the free mods.
Then second run will be underdrive pulleys and full bolts ons includeing LT headers and Y.
When I come back in 2007 Heads, cam,Transmisson, stall converter, no2,and tune.
My goal is streetable 11s maybe tap into 10s on juice. Id be investing like 15k in parts alone.

Red- 2001 Camaro SS
Sounds like a great plan!
I would do heads, cam, and gear first, though. If you can get a decent tune at the same time. If you can't get that combo on the first go, definitely go for the gear, it will wake the car up nicely.

First and foremost, come back safe!!! Do the deed brother, and keep your mind in the game.
"FC" to me means Fort Campbell. Are you 101st? I was, but about the time you were born. Regardless, just know you are thought of and prayed for, all the time.
As far as the WS6:
First buy it and drive it for a while. See what it does and how you want to change it. If you just start adding stuff FIRST, you may be wasting money. Find its strengths and weaknesses, and concentrate on the weakest links. Sub-frames and maybe a tower brace would obviously work well NOW and be REQUIRED later if you really boost the torque. Of everything you mentioned, I would "start" there, sort of like the foundation of a house. Everything else builds off of it.
Do all the free mods. Get a feel for the old girl, and then engage!!!
OOhah?

these cars already eat a lot of gas, and if you're gonna use premium gas, like most lsx'ers do, then you'll be paying out even more. plus all of the mods, etc. etc.. equal, more gas. i'd say get the Magnaflow and headers, stereo equipment, and do the wheels. the ws6's look pretty sick anyway. so there shouldn't be a whole lot on the outside to do. and insurance is a BITCH!!

black- 01-02 WS6 soon
I have a few questions for you guys and I know you have good inputs.
If I put on the SFC,LCA,panhard, and sway bars will it improve wheel spin in the rainy weather of Everett. I know if I mash on it will be spinnin like crazy but my other cars with 373 gears and converter spun like crazy no suspension work.
How rwhp/rwtq does full bolt ons,3200 stall, et streets, what ¼ does it produce? I’m talking everything but cam and heads. Make your best est.
I know the 01-02 came with a ls6 intake but did it come with a ls6 oil pump? I want to change it if it didn’t cause I hear bad things about flow issues. Inputs?
Im in the Navy as a fire controlmen on a new destroyer. We are out here now flexing our military muscle and showed what we are made of. Little dangerous out here but at least we are doing somewhat our part. The guys that deserve your prayers are the marines and army, they put on the line everyday.Last edited by fc_soldier; 05-12-2006 at 06:46 PM.

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
ive seen alot of guys waste alot of money on suspension work and only lose a tenth in the 1/4 mile.
i suggest sfc and sticky tires, thats it.
full bolt ons you are talking about 340 rwhp.
1/4 times with a 3200 stall will be mid 12s2000 nhra edition formula
a few bolt ons, 379 rwhp

LCA relocation brackets will help some with traction and an adjustable T/A can help you some also. Those are mainly hard launch helpers but for just shitty weather traction you'll need good rain tires.
Why not do the stall at the same time as the cooler? Dollar for dollar you will gain a ton from the stall alone. Excellent mod for an auto.

Should I go with 373 or 342 is there a big gas difference. I had 373 in my 87 350tpi Iroc and I got like 350-375 miles to a tank.
How much do you think it will cost; gears installed and subframes installed together?
