Idling RPM's?
I've got a 228r at 112lsa. Got a pretty good lope at idle. Are engines supposed to idle at a particular RPM or is it variable. I think at idle i am at about 900ish. Is it possible to drop the idle RPM's a bit to get a better lope? Any pros or cons to having a particular RPM at idle?

I have the 228r on a 114 and I have mine set to idle at 750 or 775. You can drop the idle but the tune gets a little trickier down there....as long as they have your idle airflow tables right you should be fine.

by dropping the idle will it have to be retuned from scratch again or will it just be minimal changes via laptop? Just had it tuned a week ago but now realize i would like it to idle a bit lower.

should just be minor airflow adjustments but it will most likely need to be changed some.
