i really need help. camaro is pissing me off

So about two months ago my car was running perfectly fine then it starts to blow smoke, but the temp gauge doesn't show that it is over heating. it was boiling the coolant out of the reservoir tank and the reservoir tank only i have since then checked the relays, fuses, changed the thermostat, replaced the coolant temperature sensor, and now i am out of ideas. MY cars fans are not going on unless the a/c is on. today i finally replaced the coolant temperature sensor and realized that the fans are still not coming on... after 20 in the car and driving it the temperature started to go up (for the First time ever) and then was once again throwing the coolant out through the reservoir tank.
i was told to check the oil to see if it had water or was milky, which could mean a head gasket, but everything seemed fine... i can take anything..... please help im desperate at this point...

Just throwing some random ideas out there....

Check your radiator cap (it may not be holding pressure).

    Check the relays again.

The new temp sensor you just installed could have been a faulty part.

You could possibly have air in the system too.

The fact that your fans come on when you turn the AC on is evidence that the fan motor is still good.

Is your water pump in good, working order?

If the fan comes on with the AC then the coolant temp sensor is bad. The computer is not getting the temp reading because the sensor is not sending the reading.

Also did you use a standard thermostat or a 160?

I had same issue a little while back and it ended up being the water pump. Changed everything that was mentioned and the last thing that made it start working was the water pump

Not necessarily, could b the ect sensor or harness or the pcm. Like stated above also prolly replace ur radiator cap. U need to look at a data display on a scan tool and c if the pcm is getting the temp signal. Also have u checked for any codes?

    Temp sensor.

With the radiator cap off, do a compression test and , put air to each cylinder, to see if any of them make the radiator bubble. If so, head gasket.

Buy a compression tester with a quick disconnect, that will allow you to hook up an air hose to it.
Remove all spark plugs and screw it in the plug hole, crank the engine over, then read the gauge. They should all be close on the readings.

if i'm not mistaken the fans will need to be tuned to the new stat... the t-stat is kicking in and the fans are still waiting on the stock stat temps to go on...

I think everyone cover most of the probable causes. Do you still have the Power Steering coolant?? If you do I would take it out while you are there, it cost me two PS pumps because it broke and it created a mess. I had PS fluid on my coolant and coolant on my PS fluid. It cost me a water pump, t-stat, 2 PS pumps, and a rack and pinion. Just a head up since you are going to be working on it.
