I need help with deciding next mod

All my mods are in my signature except for the 3.42's I recently swapped in and I just ordered hptuners today. I don't know whether to get a torque coverter or a cam or upgrade my suspension. I don't know how hard it is to install a tq so thats a factor. For a cam I want to go with the LS6 cam but I don't know what other stuff is required to change out when doing a cam, and I don't think I would attemp doing the cam swap myself. Which would benefit me the most? This is a daily driver thats why I don't want a big cam but was wondering if stock heads would be ok for that cam? So any help would be appreciated.

    converter first.
youll also need a shift kit and tranny oil cooler.
a converter is the best upgrade for performance for an A4 car.
i suggest that you go bigger than a ls6 cam because youll be pissed with yourself for not going bigger.

i agree, ls6 cam is a very small jump from what you now have. I recommend atleast a 224 114 lsa cam. i would suggest the 224 112 lsa cam. the tuning is whats going to make it the most driveable. depending on how good the tuner is you can make a 230/232 112 lsa streetable.

Is a shift kit required when doing a converter and which converter do you all recommend?

Shift kit is not reqired but you may need to adjust your shift points and delete Torque management, which you will be able to do with HPTuners.

Oh and be sure to get the tranny cooler with the TC. A temp guage for the tranny wouldnt hurt either

grrrrrr... why no suspension mods? What good is puting more power down going to do you if you spin thru 1st gear.

I already spin through first gear and can only manage a best of 13.8 up here(4500ft). Thats why I asked which of the three would be the best thing to do cam, torque converter, or suspension. If I go with a cam will I need to get my heads port and polished also?

okay... then as I said.. Suspension Mods!!! Get some Lower Control Arms, Spohn Race Rear Sway Bar, Relocation brackets, Adjustable Torque Arm, Hal 8 way shocks and springs, some Drag Radials.. Thats all probably gana run you near $3k.

You dont necissarily need to port the heads but its a good idea or you are not going to get the maximum ammount of power from your cam. You may also want to upgrade the rockers, lifters and valvesprings.

first off what kind of tires do you have? you should be running a lot better than that with those mods. You dont want the LS6 cam unless you have the LS6 heads to go with it. A torque converter and some drag radials would help a lot. Get a Vig Stall, something like 3800 or so

I have Yokohama ES100's but I don't run on those at the track. I use my old street tires because I don't get any traction through first so I don't want to burn up my good tires. My 2nd to third shift sometimes my feels like its going to fishtail. I think 3800 is too high a stall because I drive on the street everyday.

Not true, you can have your stock heads worked and alot cheaper too.

I Dont Think The Stock Ls1 Heads Can Be Improved All That Much For What You Are Paying.

If you are already changing Your tires at the track then that most likely should be Your nxt step, slicks.... Also for 4500ft thats a pretty good 1/4 time.

Are you retarded? What do you think stage 1.5-2-3 TEA heads are. They are worked over stock heads with different valves and springs on them.
