Fastenal looks to have everything you need. Extended drill bits up to 12" that I saw, and several different extractor setups. There are at least 3 locations in Houston, I would go to one. If they don't have it, they can order it.

Why don't you just tap the smooth entree of the crank shaft hole before the threads ?

Then what will he do about the crank bolt having no threads on it's shoulder?

As well as having to shorten the new bolt and find a larger diameter one also,

since the non-threaded area is a larger diameter than the threaded portion.

Ya, the more I think about this..

That would prolly work, as hardened bolts can be had @ various thread pitch and lengths from many hardware stores.

I have also seen them missing a couple of times, but they were on my car/truck..

But you're absolutely right the bolt does'nt do much, aside from simply keeping the harmonic from walking off the end of the crank.

Keep us posted. If you drill it, it will be time consuming. Hope you get it fixed.

    Hey Rich.

Well so far, I haven't done anything. I'm having a hell of a time finding what I need. I checked Fastenal. But they didn't have what I needed. I need a left handed drill bit that's at least 6" long.
