I f**ked up big time plz help

ok i was removin the intake on my 98 ss for my heads/cam install and i finally got the thing off and i found the end of a connector layin where the intake was and i started lookin around and found the wires that went to it. its a three wire plug with the purple rubber gasket on the connector. the three wires are white, orange, and green. The wires are ran right up against the firewall. Also i found a black cylinder lookin thing that was just layin there as well with the connector still attached but it looks like it broke off of something. It has a bright green plug goin attached to it. Anyone know what these are?

sound like the oil sensor. longer black with three wires. that is what people normally break when they do a manifold swap. it;s located right at the back on the drivers side. no biggie

maybe its the MAP sensor? Those wires are gray, Orange w/ black stripe, and light green. That sensor is attached to the back of the intake where the brake booster hose connects.

The oil pressure sending unit, everyone breaks it the first time around just make sure you find all the broken parts before reasembling-or vacuum the hell out of it. $40 fix.

Sounds like jmatt07 broke 2 things, the OPSU and the MAP sensor connector. And possiblly the map sensor while he at it.

hey jmatt07, if you did break MAP sensor connector, you can buy a pigtail from a GM dealership or head to the junk yard and cut one off just about any GM car from that era.

Oil pressure sensor is vertical, MAP sensor is horizontal and goes down into the block behind the valley cover.
