How to replace Hatch Lift Supports for 2001 Camaro
Does anyone have a link to a DIY guide for replacing the rear hatch lift supports on a 2001 Camaro? Mine are starting to go and I want to replace them with a set of these:
StrongArm 4860 Chevrolet Camaro R/P Hatch Lift Support 1993-02, Pack of 1
I did the same job on my 1992 Camaro many years ago, but that car had both ends of the support readily accessable. The 2001 car appears to hide the connections near the hinge behind a wall of plastic. I'm wondering how many pieces of interior moulding I'm going to have to remove to get these things off...

You have to pop the plastic hatch trim off first then everything is accessible. It's just a couple pop body pins and will just pull out.

Gotcha, thanks.
I switched them out today. Had to use some PB-blaster and a T45 socket bit to disconnect the old lift supports. Those things were really stuck on there. Ratchet got to them eventually though.
