    i would like to know how to port my heads and if anyone can help me with this cause i dont want to spend the money unless i have to thanks

    honestly i wouldn't try porting my own heads. You have to be very precise and you need consistensy. Send them in to get machined or get new heads that are already ported.

    TTT - Good thread. I'm hoping someone who has done the porting will give some guidance. I have a set of LS6 #243 heads and am thinking about doing it before the install. I've been told you use the gaskets, match the ports to it and polish from there.

    In the early 70s I ported the cylinders on a performance 2 cycle bike I used for drag racing. I was careful and thorough. The results were noticeable and I ended up with one fast ride for that day.

    yeah i really have a good idea how and have fooled around with it on iron heads but not aluminum so any help would be greatly appreciated ....
