How much hp does a stock 2000 z28 really put out?

I know all the stick numbers but i have heard of some people putting their stock cars on a dyno and getting much higher numbers. Is that true? I have also heard that The General has underrated the horsepower to make the vette look better... so how much power does a stock z28 have?

brand new, they could put 320 to the wheels easy ls1 has about 350 at the flywheel

The 310-320hp they advertise for the ls1 is actually the rwhp. Cars putting out at least 350hp stock

like they said 280-320whp depending on dyno and tranny, of course you will get the guy who made 345whp stock at some shop that probably adjusted some settings to make there customer feel good lol.

my wifes 02 35th LE auto put down 305. HPTV put a stock LS1 on their engine dyno with just headers and no accessory drive and made 400hp at the flywheel.

stock 98s I saw around 285-300 rwhp, 00+ I have seen mainly 300-315 stock....most of them anyway. As mentioned, a lot can make this number change.

when i got mine it was bone stock it came out to 291 rwhp... i doubt dat a bone stock wud reach over 320+ rwhp

Only car I have seen make 320 stock was an 02 Firehawk M6.

Ive seen a stock 01 WS6 M6 put down 331 RWHP on a dynopack. Mine as it sits with a few bolt ons pulls about 336rwhp.

My 01 A4 put 302 to the wheels stock.

My 1st 02 put 318 to the wheels stock.

My current 02 with catback, lid and Diablosprt Predator is at 328, never tested it stock though.

Using 375 as flywheel hp and figuring 20 driveline loss it would be 300 at the wheels. 15% driveline loss equals 319 at the wheels. A good guess would be 375 flywheel hp give or take 10 hp.

I see way to many 01 and 02 replies when we are dealing with an 00 which will make slightly less hp. I have seen an 00 A4 make 275 rwhp and a few others around 290-300 rwhp depending on the transmission.

the beat up ones probably make the 275 rwhp
