How much hp can you get?
Im thinking of buying an ls1 car... and im wondering what kind of hp you can get out of a naturally aspirated stock bore ls1...
Cams... heads... intakes... what ever tricks you got... although i would like to know how much you can get without spraying...
i looked through the dyno sections and most of the top H/C cars were layiing about 450 to the ground... is that about tops?

even with unlimited cash flow... there is only soo much a motor can do... and if that is true y is sarge laying like mid 400's to the ground? and he listed nitrous as a mod... dont know if those numbers include nitrous...

or you could stroke it and bore it out to a 408 then a monster cam with kick ass heads.

475rwhp would be absolute maximum and barely driveable on the street (unless the tuner is an absolute guru).
A street friendly 400-450 is more likely. I would suggest having a look at the brakes first.

Pewter- 2000 Trans Am
I think Cobras are nice cars, especially the 03/04's but i think ls1's have more potential. By that I mean, cobras are running superchargers, if you drop a supercharger on a ls1, all stock motor, there will be not contest, even if you drop money on the cobra as well. Stock for stock, I think ls1's are better to build up. I'm not saying that there is no cobra that can out run a LS1, i'm just saying I outran all the ones I faced so far.

We have a 69 Camaro The "Innovator" here at Year One and it is running a 383 stroker and a Magna Charger. It is putting down over 550rwhp and it is an a4. That is some power baby.

im weird, but i dont want to S/C... now putting a KB on a cobra... No Prob... Why you ask... it already has one... its more of an intake swap... and i have a long list of cars and the supercharger goes on the mustang... not on the trans am... and also on the 454 ss (silverado)
IFF i purchase a trans am i want to keep it naturally aspirated...
ok for comparison... a normal T/A runs 60 in 5.2ish seconds... what would a 450 hp T/A run to 60 in?
