how much does a iron block weigh?

Hi i've searched everywhere and all i can find is the aluminum block specs so hoping you guys can help

I plan on doing a engine swap for my toyota soarer for a LS1, but i just want to know some info to know how it'll effect my car handling wise.

so i've heard the aluminum block is only good for up to 600hp so i'm after a ironblock and i'm wondering how much a fully dress ironblock weighs?

and if someone could tell me how much a full dressed one + a t56 weighs?

My LQ9 iron block weighed exactly 78lbs more than a LS1 aluminum block.
202 lbs is what the iron block weighed. The LS1 we took out weighed 124lbs.
Dry and ready to go in a T56 weighs 122lbs.

All weights done on my bathroom scales by the way over the years....which is pretty damn accurate. You may vary a lb one way or the other.

are you sure thats fully dressed cast iron blcok? (with head, alternator etc on), 202 lbs is pretty light for any engine even a 13B rotary weighs more, i'm sure its more closer to at least the 400lbs - 600lbs range?

You asked how much an iron BLOCK weighed, not a fully assembled engine with internals, heads, intake and accessories...

A built iron block ls1 probably weighs in around 450-500 lbs
