With a standard oil filter it will take all of 5 and a little more than 3/4 of another. Some people just dump 6 quarts in for simplicity. I don't. Not saying it's wrong, I just don't over fill.

I must have a bent dipstick because I put in 6 1/4 and it still shows a little low

The manual says to add 5.5qts but I always do six since it burns about a 1/2 quart between oil changes.

funny how everyone has a different answer. oil pan holds 5.5, plus the filter. If I put in 5.5 and let it settle it reads good, till I start it and fill up the new filter, then it's low and the other half of that 6th quarts brings it up perfect

always put in 5 qts cause you still have a fair amount of oil in the engine already that you dont get out when you drain it. mine reads right on the mark.

I've always put in 6, even with the stock size filter.

The manual says at oil change time with a filter change put in 5.5 quarts of oil.

If you read a wear test on different motor oils, you WOULD NOT use Mobil oil.

Maybe you aren't noticing the difference between mobil and mobil1, it's not the same thing. mobil is dino oil and mobil1 is synthetic. Mobil1 is in the top of the pack, I wouldn't substitute anything for it, not even amsoil or the infamous -- royal purple
