Black on Black on Black- 2002 Camaro SS Vert
I'll take a stab on this one....I really think this is a loaded question these days. I personally go three or three. (3K miles /3Mos). On my 'burban I'm easily changing monthly...For the SS I'm every 3 mos due to low mileage. Some people say longer by miles and time. I just looked in the book for my '07 Escalade says change the oil every 7,000 miles...On that one I don't wait that long.
Just my $.02

A lot of the newer cars tell you at 3000 miles... I'm lucky to get it done before 10k...

Depends on the type of oil you run and your driving style. I have a heavy foot so I tend to change more often than necessary. But if you're running full synthetic, i'd change every 5K-6K or so. That's what I do.

I use mobile 1, and I drive my car pretty hard. bought it to enjoy it.
I changed my oil today after around 3-4K miles and it was pretty black. I use a K&N oil filter too, and I guess those only last 3k miles. so I guess I'll be changing my oil every 3k miles or so.

After reading the other posts, I'll be changing mine about every 3K. Better safe than sorry!
Mechanics told me that when you run synthetic, you can go up to 6 or 7K without changing. so much for that!

Navy Blue Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6
24000 miles and change it every 3000 or 3 months. Mobil 1 5w30. More like every three months since I keep my miles low. But I've always lived by the 3 and 3 rule no matter what type of vehicle I drive or what type of oil I use. Like Anthracis said, "It's better to be safe than sorry".

Try to @ about 2500 miles or three moths. Only use MOBILE1 filter and oil.

Whats the deal with 3 months??? I dont drive much and it takes me much longer to get 3,000 on my car than 3 months-so change it even without having 3,000 miles on the oil??? wtf???

89 porche Red- 1970 Camaro RallySport
i do 3k or 3m which ever comes first , to help answer ur ? oil cleans the engine as well as lubes it. the oil can get old with all the oxidants and acids from ur motor which it cleaned so it loses its lubrication properties with the more junk in it thats why if u dont change ur oil it will turn into varnish goo crap which will f*** ur motor over . soo thats why they say 3months even if u only got 1k miles on the it.
