how do you get a center cap on these zr1 wheels?

I finally got a center cap in for one of my 17x11 zr1 wheels and i tried a mallot and everything and just can't get it to go on. What is the trick? Thanks.

remove wheel from car.. it goes in from the inside

ahhhh....i see! thank you. I guess i never thought this b/c i watched the previous center caps get put on after the wheels were on the car and the guy just used a mallot to bang them in.

I thought all GM center caps went in from the outside. This is news to me. Reminds me of the older Mitsubishis with the rusty C-clip that would ALWAYS break.
