How do I use that darn MityVac????!! *I included PHOTOS**

I bought the mityvac to bleed my clutch because the traditional method would not work. Now what do I do with the thing? I read on a thread somewhere here that I dont need to use the bleeder valve. So I pumped a vacumn and had my brother work the clutch. I got a few bubbles, but nothing major. And of course the clutch still moves freely. I am pretty positive my master cylinder is good, because when I decided to bleed the clutch it worked well, just a little squishy. But as soon as I messed with it it lost all pressure.

here is a pic of my mityvac setup

and here is where i have been attaching it. Into the line in bottom center of the reservoir.

You have it set up right. Fill the remote reservoir w fluid, insert your nozzle in the bottom, pump it up to put pressure on it. About 8-10 times. Then go pump your clutch pedal a good dozen times. You may have to pull the pedal up with your hand the first half dozen times. So,pump it a good half dozen times, then remove the mity vac. Don't hit the lever to release the pressure, just pull the nozzle out of the remote reservoir. Now dump the contents of your mity vac catch can into the remote reservoir. You should see that your fluid level will drop because of the air you pulled out. Keep repeating this procedure until you have firm pressure.

thanks for the reply! I did do that exactly, and I just finished drilling through the tranny tunnel to access the bleeder valve from above. I then loosened it and connected the mityvac and pulled a vacumn. it would not hold the vacumn for more than a second, and the fluid level in the resivoir didnt budge. I think I may need a new master cylinder.

here is what my current set up looks like. I cried big tears when the drill hit her! lol.

No, no, no! You put the nozzle IN the remote reservoir. It is where you add brake fluid. The cup next to the driver's side hood strut like you showed in a photo. I made the same mistake that you did and cut my tunnel. Not needed. I just two weeks ago installed another, dry, new master cylinder and it took me maybe a half hour alone to bleed the whole sytsem from the remote reservoir.
