How do i get this key?

I bought a 99 z the other day. I have an ignition key but no door key. The gu said it had every available option which i would think includes keyless entry as well. So my question is how do i get a door key made when i dont already have a key? i guess chevy dealer? I guess they could make a keyless entry too if i already have it on the car?

chevy dealer or any locksmith should be able too do it.

Yeah, dealer can make you a door/hatch/t-top key (should be the same cut). Not sure what you're asking about - them making you a keyless entry - you have a working remote?

Go to the dealership with your #VIN and registration. They might want ID but it varies from state to state. Have them pull the code for you and take that to a local locksmith. A locksmith will ALWAYS be able to cut the key and supply the blank for a lot cheaper than a dealer. And don't let the dealer try to charge you for the code either. By law you own the car, and the code is part of that. I work at a locksmith shop so i do these every day.

So you are leaving it unlocked now? I've always had keyless remote on my Camaros-you need to get a remote and match it to the car. A dealer would sell that-the owners manual has instructions on matching a new remote to the car i think.
