    let me look around.....another place to get some would be audio installer type places. I guarantee they have them. I'll also look in my tool box....I have a few different packs of them out there. Let me know what your key ohms out too and I'll see if I have a combo that will work for you you.


    I want to fix an error I had a few posts back. Gold band are 5% tolerance and not 1%. Gold is 5% and silver is 10%.

    I have 1999 camaro and I am trying to do this where can i get some resistors? Is there a certain kind of resistors I need? I have the ohm reader bit i do not know how to use it on my keys can you please help me!!! All I need to know is where i can get some resistors and what kind and how to test the keys!! I put the red and black thing on the ohm reader on both sides of the metal chip on the key but the reading does not ever stop it jumps up and down!! What am i doing wrong?? Can you please please help me!!!

    I am trying to figure out how to see what my key ohms out to but i guess i am doing it wrong because the reading never stops !! what am i doing wrong? I touched both sides of the key on the metal part of the chip and the reading never stops!! Am i doing it wrong? If you can help me get this done i am forever in your debt!!!

    how did you get that? Maybe I have the wrong ohm reader because I got 0.05@ 200k and 0.52@ 20k!! Am i doing this right?

    how do you find out the Pellet Code? I bought a cen-tech digital multimeter is that a good ohm reader? Or do i have the wrong thing?

    clean your pellet first with a pencil eraser, make sure the leads stay steady on the pellet, and make sure your leads don't touch anything but the metal centers on the pellet.

    look back one page to the chart. That would be 5200 ohms and it isn't listed....you're doing something wrong.

    Make sure your finger don't touch the metal meter leads or the metal pellet contacts while you are testing it.

    I don't know what else to do I am getting the same reading except when i set the meter to 2000k i get 001 and at regular 2000 i get 523!! I don't know what else to do any suggestions? Do you think i have the wrong meter? What else can i try? Please help me out!!

    Does both numbers have to match? I got 0.06@ 200k and it is a match but on the other number i got 0.66@20k and it does not match the other number which is 0.52!! Does this mean the bypass won't work?

    Ok I am still getting the same numbers so i went to my car to check the vats and i got -5.53@ 20k and -58.6@ 200k is this right. Then i checked the white wires that connect to the vats and I got 0.06@ 200k and 0.66@ 20k!! Does this mean the bypass won't work or am i still doing something wrong!! Please help me i really need my car to get back and forth to work and this is driving me crazy having to sit and wait for the light to go off for my car to crank and sometimes it does not crank after the light go off the first or second time!!

    sounds like you might have resistor number 12 in this chart. Although your meter readings don't exactly match that. But its close.

    Do you have a 2nd key you could test? I'm wondering if the problem is the pellet in that key. Also....does your meter have an "auto" mode for ohms? Doesn't really matter.....the way you're doing it now it just moves the decimal around but it might make it easier for you to understand.

    Yes the second key gives me the same thing! I do not see auto mode on my meter!! Once I get the reading i do not know how to go about figuring out the resistor i may need!! I don't know how to do this at all so how do i figure out what resistor i need?

    with those resistance values you're getting it's a total guess......they're not right. Like Cutlass said.....my guess would be chip 12 so you need resistors adding up to 6040 ohms.
