Hood Struts For Lightweight Hood?

Anybody out there switch hood struts when installing a lighter hood? My new hood is only 14 lbs, and the factory struts are just too much for it, but I can't find a source for struts rated at like 20 lbs/ft in the right dimensions? Anybody?

I never swapped the struts.
Just hold the hood until it is fully open, otherwise you can stress the fiberglass.

I checked the hood struts on my car...
AVM (the brand?) (it's a blue label)
ACP88535 1844
I don't know if these are the right struts (pressure wise), but they work well enough on my 'glass hood, the car came like this when i bought it.
u should be able to take this part number to an auto parts place and have them cross-reference the number, or they might carry the same brand?

Yeah don't even try the stocks your break stuff!! I bought some through Harwood or Unlimited Fiberglass.
