    HID install.. HELP!!

Well I got the HID kit for my low beams and fog lights from LED Gauges.com and I put in the headlamps, one side works (passenger) and one side doesnt.
Then I went ahead and did the fog lamps figuring the lamp was delivered defective. Well I put one fog lamp in, tested it,worked fine and moved on to the next. After installing the second one I went to test it and NEITHER worked now. So Im wondering if there is a fuse that could have blown out. Ive checked the one under the hood and it is fine but the switch that turns the fogs on and off doesnt even light up any more. Im totally baffled. Ive been over the connections top to bottom and they are fine, its a basic install that has me whooped. anybody have any ideas?

well I found a blown fuse the for back up lights that is fused into the fogs. When I replace it it blows out as soon as I turn on the fog switch. Of course its raining out now so I cant go get under it and have another look...and it was doing this before the rain came so it cant be water from the rain.

I put a higher amp fuse in (30) and that did the trick. The new lights are higher amp than the stock 20amp. This may help someone down the road.

Did the wiring to the lights get upgraded?

If they draw more current then they should have a bigger power wire and ground. If they draw enough they could cause the old wire to melt. Do the instructions show adding a larger power wire? That could be what the pigtail is for.

I recommend you get a high wattage relay harness. It will make sure the HIDs receive full power by connecting to the battery. Even though it is not recommended I would still go ahead and get one. It will also help by not blowing any other fuses except the one in the harness. I have one on each of my cars and never had any HID issues. PM if you are interested in where I got mine.
