Help needed
I need some advice. I bought a 98 Trans am from a dealer. I love the car. When I bought it the t-top leaked and as part of the sale they promised to fix it. After I owned it I found out it did not have traction control as advertised and I just got a $300 check from them for that. I took it in for the t-tops and when I got it back(unfixed since they had to order parts) there was a tear in the headliner. So I took it back now, and they fixed the headliner, but now I get it back and there is a crack in the dash. It is in the big flat upper part from the defroster area to the front. Cracked all the way through. I cant imagine how they cracked it doing what they were doing. But I cant imagine that I didnt see this crack before. Any idea how this would get cracked? All they did was fix the t-top and check a noise in the suspension.

i agree, talk to the GM at the dealership. Don't waste your time with the service or sales manager. Schedule a meeting with the general manager, key word schedule. Funny though, that dash pad is notorious for cracking. Bad timing could be their loss. Just remember those dashes crack and bust into lil itty bitty pieces once they become brittle. Good luck.

I had an issue with a Gm dealer, They painted a bumper for me and the paint started to flake off, so i called the dealer and they said it was my fault, Ie rock chips or some bs, so i kept calling different people, If a manager doesnt give you the right answer ask for his managers info and so on. Keep going up the chain until you find someone that will help you, may take a few calls and some Anger management but eventualy you will get ahold of someone who will help ya out.

i just thought of something while reading the last post. Usually the GM will handle it, just use good business since when talking to him. Unlike my brother that flyies off the handle if the wind shifts. Find out what dealer group they belong too. I doubt you will get the owner, but some dealerships belong to a group and that group is sometimes owned by people that want to keep a good name. Courtesy / Auto Nation is a big dealer group. If the GM gives you a hard time, go above his head to the dealer group. I personally had good success resolving problems with the GM. Ultimately they don't like bad press. Good luck. If that doesn't work, well you always have the local news. In my town each local news affiliate has an investigator report team that loves stiring up trouble, heance the desire for a dealer to keep a good image. No one likes being at the end of a reporter looking to make a news story juicy, bad for business.
