    HELP my car won't start

Alright well about tWo months ago my car stops working. One day it fired up but it wouldn't stay on unless I kept my foot on the gas, then after a cuple min it ran fine. The next day same thing but I just left it and thought it was the cold. Well now two month later it won't start. I thought it was the fuel pump so I replaced that and the filter and nothing and I have spark. The fuses and relays r fine as well. The car cranks but it won't fire and now I have no idea what to do next. Maybe cam or crank sensor?? Idk but if u have any ideas pleas tell me haha cus I don't

    Thank you Jason

if you have spark then the crank sensor is probably ok. Have you keyed it on and cranked it long enough to fill up the fuel filter and prime the fuel system up to 55 to 60 psi?

can you hear the pump running? Maybe have a friend key on the ignition (don't crank it). the pump should run for 2 seconds.

any trouble codes? It could be alot of things. MAF sensor, coolant temp sensor, vats theft system problem, crank sensor, blown fuse somewhere, bad pcm, fouled spark plugs, etc.
Disconnect the MAF sensor and see if it'll start. pull a few spark plugs and see what they look like maybe?

Well no maf it's deleted. The fuses and relays are fine. You think it could be the crank position sensor??

I Bet its probly the cam sensor, I would check the easy things first like making sure there is fuel and spark indeed which you say there is so I would buy the cam sensor its about 3 inches long or so and about 35 bucks at the auto parts. Good Luck

Cam or crank?? Cus it should still start, just run like crap with a bad cam sensor I think?? But with bad crank sensor I read that it won start. That's y I'm thinking it might be the crank sensor??

You have to remove the intake manifold. its right next to the oil pressure sensor.

    It has a big wing!

Subscribing because my brothers 98' TA shows symptoms just like this from time to time... And he has also replaced fuel pump/filter and is getting spark...

BTW.. might be a dumb question but, what do you mean you deleted the MAF sensor? I thought that it plays a big role in fuel and air management?

    car won't start

hi, i had the exact same problem with my car yesterday. it started about a week ago my car would start intermittently. it would start fine and if i drove it for 10 minutes and turned it off it would not re-start. as the week went by it continued to get worse. well yesterday it would not start at all. it would just crank and crank and would not even try to start. i could hear my fuel pump coming on when i turned the key to the on position. so i replaced the fuel filter and still would not start. so then i switched my fuel pump relay with my air pump relay and still nothing. so then i took one of my fan relays and put it in the ignition relay and it started right up. so far its continuing to start right up. try that and you might get lucky like i did. i was dreading putting a fuel pump in. good luck.
