just another word of advice don't go with the ACDelco pump from GM, biggest piece of crap ever, went through about 3 in one year and the 4th one went out a week after the warranty was up so not too pleased with them.

mine read 58psi which is what it is supposed to be.. i filled up the tank yesterday and put the lucas injecter cleaner in after..i purchased my car from this site and it was dynoed in South Carolina, I live in texas would the different altitude/atmospheric conditions affect the way it runs here? Ive changed the fuel filter a few thousand miles ago but its done it ever since i bought it...not every time but id say every 4th time i start it..???

MAF cleaner... don't use brake cleaner on it... i've heard bad things about brake cleaner... compressed air won't do nothing but possibly break the tiny connectors...

try to replace or swap out your fuel pump relay, and see if that makes a differance. It under the hood in the fuse and relay boxes. they should be labled.

I buy mine from NAPA. It says MAF Cleaner on the spray can. When I clean mine I don't bother with getting the MAF out to clean it. Its easier just to unplug the MAF connector, take the black rubber coupler off at the throttle body and pop the lid loose and take it off as 1 piece and spray the hell out of it in both directions, It won't hurt a thing. And its alot easier.

best bet is to completely remove it to clean it... the bars that go across (that the sensors are connected to) are a "U" shape and can get oil (if you have an oiled air filter) and other crap stuck in them...

**edit... holy crap... i just looked over what you posted again... yeah... with your way you can still clean it properly...

sounds like the fuel pump is definatley draining back into the tank. long cranking time because the pump has to move the fuel all the way to the motor. replace the fuel pump.
