Static pressure should be 70 above 75*, 100 above 90*. 86-95* ambient with it running should read 42-46 psi low side (above 30% humidity). Out of my helms...search and see if someone has posted an AC performance chart for the LS1. Maybe it's just low?

    2001 formula

I just got done redoing my 01 formula. That pressure reading is probably low. What pressure is the high side reading? I put 2 and 1/2 cans in my firebird and with the a/c high blower and on max my pressures read around 30-40 on the low side and the high side was around 225-240 and I was putting out around 53 degrees car not moving and at cruising speed it cools 47-48 degrees this was with an outside temp of 92 degrees. We really need to know the high side to determine if the compressor is operating properly

As said, AC is such a simple design. Its all about pressures. If you dont haveem right, you arnt going to blow cold. Go buy a set of gauges, dont take it to the dealer, they are going to bend you over. Learn how easy it is to master AC problems with a simple set of gauges, and charge your buddies 35 bucks an hour. Test your pressures on both low side and high side and get back to us.
