Agree. You need to correct the root problem first otherwise you're just going to be going through O2 sensors and plugs/wires.

Even if the leak isn't the problem, it definitely isn't helping the problem. One small thing a day will make the problem go away...

I do not have headers or anything of that nature but I did have a similar problem. It was a cat that was failing I replaced the one that I though was failing(had fun glowing colors) and problem solved.

If you think that was bad it was like my engine was coming out and trying to give birth to a baby LS. It scared the shit out of me.

To add, a faulty catalytic converter will not always throw a code.

There's more than one but I prefer my exhaust guy. I may try another and see if they try to take my wallet to check for leaks.

I think it could possibly be the cats. I borderline passed emissions last year maybe they were on their last legs. Not sure but I'm wondering if they got damaged by speed bumps etc . They are a little flattened on the bottom from impacts and if they ate ceramic I wonder if they could have collapsed or broke down.

    Again I appreciate everyone's input!

I did throw on the air block off plates without gaskets the other day because the gaskets were destroyed. New ones came in today I'll throw those on. Going to drive by a local exhaust shoppe to check for leaks too

Well it's pissing rain out and I'm on the way to the dealer and the car is bucking and jerking in 6 5 an 4th gears cruising with traffic about 45 mph. Accelerating and decelerating the car is fine as soon as I'm trying to stay at a steady pace all he'll breaks loose. Makes me wonder if it's electrical because of the rain and it being worse.. I'm gonna grab some maf cleaner and just give it a go today too.

Well I know it's wishful and hopeful that my problem may have been solved and I highly doubt it but earlier today I removed the Maf and used maf cleaner and sprayed it out and let it dry. While it dried I had a friend from work pass by with his 2004 Audi s4 wagon which is a car I'm considering to replace the ss with.. What a great car but back to the ss.. My throttle response has seriously improved. This I'm not kidding about it's obvious in the pedal. For the last few weeks if I stabbed the throttle there was a delay and sucking sound the rpms would fall and that's pretty much it. Now, no matter how fast I stabbed l the throttle and let off it revs up a few hundred rpm. It's like way more responsive.

I dont think it was the problem with the stumbling but it hasn't stumbled in a few drives this evening so far since I cleaned the maf.

Ok she stumbled this morning for a minute or so and then stopped for the rest of the 20 miles on the freeway and Didn't do it all the way home eithEr. I'm starting to guess it's the fuel system. I'm not sure it's the pump since it's only light throttle and steady low rPm where it's stumbling. Also because I'm getting codes off 1 bank I'm leaning towards the injectors. I grabbed a fuel filter and just swapped it now but I doubt it was the culprit.

Made an appointment with the exhaust shoppe for this week I'm going to have the catted y dropped to check for collapsed cats. Then I'll switch the o2s to see if the code pops on the other side. Then slap it all together and check for leaks etc.

I ended up getting it to start.. I posted about it in the other thread. With regards to the bucking surprisingly today morning it didn't do it once. I don't want to get my hopes up but man I would be a believer if the fuel filter did solve it. I've always changed my fuel filters but never have I noticed any difference or had it solve any symptoms. I guess it's possible but I'm driving home now and i have my fingers crossed !

Ok this is really odd but since I changed the fuel filter I haven't had a single issue with the bucking or jerking. It's the first 2 drives where it hasn't done it in weeks. Before today it did it EVERY time at some point on the highway.

The other thing is the sound is back! Since yesterday I noticed it barks on start up and has some good rumble when decelerating in gear. It's definitely noticeable.

Wether it's a condition that is on/off or if the fuel filter was the issue I'll have to wait and see.

I also noticed the tips are no longer full of black water/soot. I wiped the tips this morning quickly with a dirty rag and to my surprise I checked just now and they're still clean! Well not clean clean because it's rained all day and night but I swear after a 10 minute drive they were getting so so black the last 2 weeks. I posted pic earlier of what happens she I rev it at idle Which was black pools of water Under the exhaust. Here's a pic I took now after I revved it the same way.. Clean tips.. No black water under the tips..

Going to go knock on wood ..
