    Question Heavy oil leak

Hi all, have a serious oil leak on bottom/lower driver side of engine (2000 Formula LS1) and no lifts or jacks immediately available. I first noticed it last night when I was getting ready to leave the house. All of a sudden (or so it seemed) there was smoke and a heavy oil odor. Got out to see what was wrong and there were some serious puddles developing in the driveway---looked like it was coming from the approx area of oil filter. Thought it might be a loose filter cause just changed oil recently and hand tightened only. Also, I did hit a spped bump a little harder than normal earlier in the week. Bought a new filter this AM and put it on, thought I had the leak stopped but it began leaking again immediately after starting. The leak is like a very fast drip to a light flow. What do you all think? Oil pan, oil line, ??? I don't have the shop manuals yet so not sure of what sources are in that part of the engine. PS: I am getting ready to go out the door to look to look at an 01 WS6 with my sig other--may be another Bird in the family later today! Thanks----crex4u. Happy 4th to all!!!!!

Possibly cracked oil pan, double-gasketed oil filter, leaking oil pan gasket, leaking driver side valve cover gasket.

Just above the oil filter there a block plate that covers to ports for an oil cooler that f-bodies doesn't use. There is a one piece seal behind it. Mine sprung a leak there and leaked a lot.

I bottomed out on a speed bump and knocked a hole in oil pan. Leaked bad like your talking about. Will need to get it up off ground.

What side would it drip down if it were the oil pressure sending unit?

Either driver or passenger being that the switch is on top of the motor toward the firewall dead center.
