    Headlight Mentoring?

I have a Y2K Z28 that has over 106K miles on it. The headlight lenses are looking like crap and I would like to either restore these or replace them with something a little more interesting than stock but not "rice". I keep seeing references to halo lights and projector lights. I'm not sure if these would be legal in CA. I'm not sure what they would look like on the car. I see that some of them come "each" for around $200-$300 and some of them come in pairs for about the same price range. I was looking at a catalog on line that showed brands like Matrix, Anzo, etc. Has anyone got some experience with these things and do you have any recommendations? Are the halo lights like the ones you see in BMWs these days? I see that the aftermarket units come in either black or clear. Is that the lens color or the background color? What would look best on a Pewter car?
