Headlight Issue
Strange problem withe headlight motor on 2000 Firehawk. Two nights ago came in and shut the car down and hit lock on the key fob. Headlamps popped up and then shut, one started grinding.
After cruising around on the web I figured I'd try the free fix "turning the manual adjust 180 degrees" to use the other side of the gear assuming it was stripped. So now it shuts properly and doesn't pop up and down when i unlock/lock it.
New problem I can't seem to easily fix though. The same headlight motor/door squeaks as it comes to a close very loudly. Scared the motor might be running just slightly too long and will soon eat this side of the gear as well. I tried moving a few degrees on the manual knob, but that didn't seem to help... Any ideas? Other headlight door is silent other than the usual "thunk" all of them seem to make as they close 100%.

The linkage could be binding causeing the squeak, Opoen the hood and have some one cycle the lights to get a firm diagnosis.

Just thought of one more thing, I am having this problem with my car. If the cover is too high on the back edge, It will catch and bind on the hood.
