true but the gear is not moving so there is no reason for it to get stripped. put your hand outside your window, hold it flat and push it toward the ground at 100 mph. then think about the size of the headlight pushing aganist that resistance.

this doesn't seem to make sense to me. if there up there is resistance already? why would it matter to open them. seems like it would help.
When you open them at highway speeds is slams them open wich in turn spins the gear faster then the motor which either strips the gear or spins the motor real fast. It will eventually strip the gear. That is why this is a good tip.

    thanks gnomee.

BTW the brass gear worked for me for awhile, I was still opening the lights on the highway and it eventually got stripped as well. Never fixed it because I wrecked the car.......

No problem. I really think they should have said something about this in the Manual.

The pop-up headlights are cool but they suck for the fact that you either have to fix them all the time or watch how you use them.

Once you get the mind set of not turning them on while going down the highway you just start doing it without thinking.

Good luck with the new car! Don't forget about AutoTrix for you window issues
