Has anyone ever put spacers between the cats and exaust manifold for sound?

I was wondering if anyone has put spacers... such as washers between the bold to create more sound.... will this throw any codes? I had a mechanic tell me he did it to his old vette and was wondering if anyone has done this on an ls1 or if this can pose any known problems. Thanks

Yes, exhaust leaks - especially near 02's will throw a code(s). Cheapest way to get lounder is a cutout in the I pipe under the rear seat.

Codes....underhood temps...crappy sound

I already have a cutout... just looking for some more cheap sound... GatorSS he's built alot of hot rods and didnt suggest me to do it... just said he did it on his old vette.... so keep your smart A$$ comments to yourself
