Is distilled water okay? I know that by itself distilled water will not boil and superheat until you add an outside element in, in which case the water will errupt and cause ba'ad burns. or not...

Yea, its pre-boiled water so all the impurities and stuff are out of the water making it pure and such so you dont have tap water w/ minerals and ect running through your block.

Well, you guys can use dexcool and I'll keep using the green stuff. As long as you use distilled water with the green, your good to go. Aluminum heads and blocks have been around much, much longer than dexcool. I've had it in my car for six years, no corrosion that I can tell of. And if it does somehow corrode, I'm putting in a 6.0 block within a year and a half anyways.

almost all green antifreeze is now compatible with dex. when they first came out with dex-cool, they could not be used together, but most antifreeze companies have reformulated their green antifreeze to be compatible with all makes of antifreeze. I still probably wouldn't mix them unless it was some kind of emergency but you could if you had to. i would just check the label first because some of the cheaper brands probably still aren't compatible.

its not really much of a difference. I know know that the green stuff needs to be flushed more often. at my dealership we dont use distilled water. its just not available. i have never seen a problem because of minerals or contaminants in the water.
i know its recommended, but it isnt that critical.
