good internal motor cleaner?

i've used seafoam on my truck a few times...dunno if it did anything or not. anyone know of a good cleaner to run through the ls1...thnx

No....AutoRX cleaning and rinse phase must be done with Dino oil as synthetics defeat the cleaning properties of AutoRX....so just follow the directions...use a good dino oil like Castrol GTX or Havoline w/ARX during the cleaning and rinse phase...then go to your synthetics......

On another note....if you switch to synthetics and start hearing strange noises...it is good to clean your motor with ARX/Dino....then go back to the synthetic oil....

I feel that one was meant for me to read

Should one also change the filter before the cleaning phase? That's 2 more filters i'll have to buy...

Not at all man

I thought (am pretty sure) I talked about that in another string with you anyway didn't I?.....On your particular "noise"...I still am sure it is just loosening things up in there.....The AutoRX just dissolves the shit in there....Get some good old AC Delco filters and change them out every 1000 miles for a couple of times and top it off....your cleaning the crap out of your engine right now with the Amsoil....

Thanks. That's what I thought, ...but was just double-checking to see if you really know what you're doing...

I'm just letting the Amsoil do my cleaning.

After doing some more investigating I think the source of my sounds isn't coming from the engine itself, but underneath...meaning exhaust...possible exhaust leak or rattle. The engine does make a lot of lifter noise now but it quiets down after its warmed up so I know that isn't an issue.

Engine still runs hard and smooth @ WOT and shows no signs of anything detrimental or power loss so I don't think anything is broken.

I'll still change the filter early though just for the sake of doing it, because of the dino -> syn change.

if it quiets down when it's warm then it's piston slap...the piston expandes when hot so it fits in the cylinder better and stops slapping.

No, it isn't piston slap. That is a whole different noise, and I know what it sounds like.

What I was referring to was simply injector clicking, they are very audible when it is first started.

Piston slap is easy to tell because its only one cylinder...if they all did it it would sound horrible.
