I would still get under that car and check the rear lower control arm bushings and the panhard bar for looseness. Just to be safe and using process of elimination.

I'll tell the mechanic to check that when I return it in a few days. Because he did ask me to drive it around a week or two, after he pulled the rear axle apart and put new fluid in it.

I have a list of things for the mechanic to check..................

Check rear lower control arm bushings.
    Check Panhard bar for looseness.
    Check right rear wheel bearing.
    Check hud assembly.

Is there anything else I should ask him to check?

Have you looked at your rear tires real good? I ask as if the tread is "choppy" or "feathered", or if you have a bent rim, you will get a thumping or whirring sound.

If your tires are flat-spotted, you'll get a whirring/thumping noise. Depending on the severity, you'll get a vibration, but you already stated no vibrations.
