    Gas Tank/Gauge problem.

well ive started to notice this on my car, when i turn corners and throttle or brake, the gas gauge moves alot that doesnt concern me as much as y is it when i put $12 in gas in my car bout 4gallons here my needle says ive got about 3/4 full tank and if i let it set there wont move, but when i start to drive home the needle drop dramatically just by driving maybe 1/4mile. i dont know if it has a small tank but i still dont think that 4gallons of gas should say ive got almost full tank.. couple people told me that maybe the bober or w/e that measuers the gas in the tank is goin bad or something and i might have to drop the gas tank and replace that.. can anyone help me on this i would like to drive my car a little more often but if my tanks reads i have full tank but i only have like a gallon left i dont wanna get stranded.

The gas gauge moving easy like that is a problem every generation has had until 98 as far as I know. My 96 and the 89 I used to have did the same thing. The gauge is just real sensitive and when the gas moves to one side or the other slaushing around the gauge will move.

Sitting still should give you an accurate reading. You are not going to get stranded most likely.

98 up does not have this problem, don't know if its just a different gauge or sensor.
