gas pedal unresponsive for a bit..very weird
My friends and I were riding in my t/a and we decided to go to a deserted dirt parking lot to screw around. I did a donut or two but after the second donut my car was completely unresponsive to my gas pedal, slowly inched forward and my "Check gauges" light turned on.
It was in gear, inching forward but the gas pedal wasn't working at all!! So I put the car in neutral and shut it off, than turned it back on and everything was okay.
my car is an automatic, and my traction control was off..Any idea what that was about??

Nope. If our cars were drive-by-wire maybe so, but since they are not, IDK. What gauge was low when the 'check gauges' lit up?
I did break my throttle cable once, but shutting it off and restarting won't reset that.

tatertot: i don't remember any noise whatsoever, and honestly idk what sputtering means.. but it did feel like it was struggling big time to even inch forward
toofast, flybird: Before this, my check engine light was on (for a small evap leak), and my security light was on, and for this occasion my "traction control off" light was on too. When the car started freaking out, only the check gauges light was on from what i recall...but honestly I wasn't paying too close attention, it just seemed like the whole thing might have lit up.
Dethinboots: my cars bone stock as far as performance goes, I think (with the exception of the borla catback)..when i bought it, it came with a small "Hypertech" sticker on the airlid. I'm not sure what that means but could that maybe have something to do with it since yours does the same?
It's weird, i just can't think of why it did that

The computer might have lost communication with the throttle position sensor or it could be getting ready to go out.

is your battery secured? The battery hold downs on these cars are known to break....maybe your battery was flopping around up there?

Well, I guess don't do the donuts anymore like that lol.
As others have said, these OE differentials don't like abuse, especially like that.
And check that battery hold-down.

I don't think it was a battery issue... all of the electronics stayed on and didn't surge at all. But I'll check the hold downs tomorrow just in case they are lose.
My tank was a little over half full at the time. I would hope it wasn't a fuel pump issue either, i keep that sucker drowned in 1/4 tank of gas always to prevent that dreaded fuel pump from dying
I was doing it in a dirt parking lot, it was a lot like doing donuts in the rain as far as it felt. I also hope that its less stressful on the car compared to doing it in clear and dry streets.
Could it be a computer problem?? Is there anyway I could test it to find out?? cause driving on the street normally I don't have a single problem with the car. Even today I must've drove it a good 40 miles, it didn't stutter or have any issues whatsoever, nearly felt perfect.

I don't think you have an issue other than you like to do donuts in a car. I wouldn't worry about it and stop doing donuts.
