Ok so I found a new regular non locking cap. The gasket looks a little more thick. I put it on and had been testing. I still see the neck of the fuel tank is getting wet but is not leaking out so far. The small metal tab that tends to seal the opening until you put the pump nozzle in, is not closing all the way. Maybe that's why the fuel tank neck is getting all wet. I drove the car all around and haven't smell fuel in the garage so far. I emailed rockauto about the issue and they said they can't refund me the money because I had it for more than 30 days but they are going to give me store credit. Rockauto is just awesome!

Good to hear you solved the problem, my only concern is "why is there so much over pressurization in the fuel tank", I mean why is the neck wet?

I have the stock cap on my garage queen, and do not have this problem.

that is my concern as well. where is the tank supposed to vent? it was happening before when the car was hot from driving for an hour or more. is almost like the fuel is getting hot.

well so far no more fuel smell in the garage since the new fuel cap. So I guess it was a fuel cap issue. Thanks for the help guys.

well the smell is back. Took the car for a long trip around town and the garage smells like gasoline. Checked the gas cap and the bottom of the gasket is wet. I can smell the gasoline odor in the area with the gas cap on. Somehow the gas tank is not venting normal? Does anyone knows where does the tank vent from? Is there is a vent valve? Could it be the charcoal canister? This is starting to get annoying.
