fuel rail gauge??
ok i just bought a gauge for my fuel rail. I was wondering how to install it so that not allot of gas comes out? i know that i have to unscrew the fuel rail cap, use tape-long tape or what ever is call then i take the valve-stem off, but before i take it off i purge it? how do i purge it with the gas pedal or the valve-stem in the fuel rail. also i have to have the engine completely cold rite. Correct me if i'm wrong please, and sorry for this dum question i just don't want to drown in gas lol

yea man, I would do it when the engine is cold. Unscrew the schrader valve cap. Then press the valve put a rag over it first because it will leak fuel. When all the pressure is relieved, then use a core remover and take out the valve. Then you can install your gauge assuming it came with the correct fittings. they are 4an fittings and dont need teflon or anything to seal up. Just put the gauge on and tighten it up.

good im guessing that the way i will know if there is no more pressure is wen fuel stops coming out rite? also is good to know that i dont need teflon tape, im still prob going to use it just to be on the safe side.

The rail will burp a small amount of fuel -- less if the engine has not been run in a while. Exactly as recommended, hold a rag against and underneath the schrader valve and press in on the tip with a small phillips head screwsdriver. A pair of safety glasses isn't a bad idea, but I doubt you will have any issues. Should look like this when you are all done:

You don't need teflon on the AN side of the rail and fitting. You do need teflon on the 1/8NPT gauge and 1/8 NPT side of the adapter.

yeah i already did it it was a really easy install is it normal that wen i turn my key to the on position the gauge goes up and wen i turn the car on it stays around 58psi even wen i rev it with the throttle body blade it does not move/ i guess i have to use the gas pedal.

You can order an Autometer gauge from Summit or Jeg's. It comes with the fuel rail adapter and installs quickly.

Edgar did you install the style that has a gauge under the hood, or is it in the cabin?

they also come in red, blue, and black, i got mine black to match with my car. But back to my fuel presure is it normal to be around 58psi all the time? even wen i rev it with the throttle blade?
