I used a bead of black silicone and i made the door of a piece of aluminum sheet. No smell so far in like a year. Get that fixed trans is not healthy to be smelling fumes in the cab with windows closed even if it is for a small amount of time.

Thanks guys to you all for the good info on this! Now I have a question...
I have the walbro pump on my car. But I have noticed a difference on the gas mileage. Is that normal?
    I got really bad now!

My guess...the fuel pressure increased with the better pump and you're now running a little rich. I was seeing 58-60psi with my Walbro250. I got the tune adjusted for the higher pressure and it ran fine.

    Haven't heard that one before.

On my wifes car, her fuel pressure (with original pump) was a bit weak at 54-55psi so I knew it was time for a change. I installed the racetronix pump (which is a walbro 255) and fuel pressure is now a rock steady 60 psi all the time.

There hasn't been any gas mileage differences in her car (still getting 21-22mpg around the city and 28-30 mpg highway).

What I have noticed almost imediately (other than the fuel pressure increase) is that now the car starts much quicker with the first crank of the key. Before the engine would crank over 3-4 times before it fired. Now it's one or maybe 2 cranks and it comes to life quickly.
