    Fuel problems.

I've got a code P0440 (evap system).I was going to fuel my car, and the check valve was stuck closed with pressure in the gas tank. Gas wouldn't go in, just sprayed back out of the neck. I'm thinking that my vapor vent valve or purge solenoid is bad, and not relesing the pressure from the tank. Where is the canister and vent valve located? Do i have to pull the gas tank to get to them?

The canister is in the rear corner of the car behind the filler neck ( at least on my 98). I didn't pay much attention to it really so not sure if you have to drop the tank to get to it but I will say there's just not a lot of room back there period so my guess is gonna be yes but that's a guess.
