    Fuel Filters

Is there a certain brand that you recommend most and ones to stay away from?

Just wanted to know. I seen on here about the best oil filters to use and the ones to stay away from. So i wanted the same kind of info on the fuel filters. I have always used the AC Delco one, and just wanted to make sure the LS1 is getting protected the best that it can.

Yeah that's a good question. I have seen lots of info/discussions on oil filters that inspired me to switch brands, but now that you mention it there's not as much discussion around fuel filters. Does that just mean they're all basically the same or of the same general level of quality?

The I'm an oil junkie made me switch my oil and oil filter 2yrs back. The proof was and is there for better brand. I feed the SS only chevron 93 octane and still want to make sure there is a real good filter on there before it hits the motor.

Not a clue. I do not believe I have ever seen anyone post a fuel filter comparison on here. We usually discuss oil and air filters.

Fram here!!! Those are the BEST filters, hands down!!!! DYNO PROVEN 0.5 HP gain!!!

I just happened to buy it because I found one for the same price as the AC/D and didn't really care on the brand, just an early attempt at a quick fix to lean codes rather than a need to change.

I can't say that the Fram is any better or worse than the AC/D, but I don't have any problems with mine. (~1000 mi since installing)

I went to napa yesterday and asked the guy what fuel filter was best for my ride. His answer was that they were all the same. That it depended on me how much i wanted to spend on one. WOW! I shook my head and walked out. I went to another Auto parts store and they said use wix. It's the best! Gave me no why, how or proven anything. Just a "that's why they charge more for their product." I wonder if this bob is the oil guy might help, or know someone that can.

+1 for Delco. Would you want to trust a Fram product knowing how crappy their oil filters are? Delco's are all we install at the dealer.

Personally, I would go AC Delco -- but now that you mentioned it, Wix does seem to produce quality filters. I'd run one on my car.
