http://installuniversity.com/ is one of them. Stay away from de screening the MAF sensor.

maybe they will explain why, but the newer ones come w/o the screen so i don't see the big deal.

I would stay with a screen if it had one. I have found several shards of grass in my old camaro, plus it is not like it really huts to have one in. It has been debated several times and it boils down to personal pref.

The MAF is a measuring instrument and messing with it throws off its calibration. It works by heating a tiny wire to a certain temp. By monitoring how much current is required to maintain the wire temp, the PCM can interpolate airflow into the engine. Any alteration to the MAF generally results in more air entering the engine than is being accounted for and you get a lean condition. The stock MAF will support about 500 h.p. so no need to mess with it.

    Thumbs up

If you descreen the MAF end, or go with ported descreened ends (as I did), you will need to have the A/F ratio recalibrated as stated above. I replaced my stock MAF ends before a dyno tune, and the WOT A/F ratio was 15.3:1 (very lean) the tuner readjusted it to 13.2:1.
