    flutter from exhaust

I have a 2000 Z28 running straights and muffler dumps. When driving, I hear a flutter from the exhaust. Has anyone had this problem before? Let me know your thoughts?

    Thanks ,

    Bryon

It has long tube header, off-road x pipe, and Magnaflow bullets open right before the rear axel. That might be it, now the hard part is finding it

Look the exhaust over for black spots around the welds... also, a cigarette can help, blow the smoke near the suspect areas with the engine running... it will show the leak in the smoke... Same method can be used on a vacuum leak, it will suck the smoke in at the leak.

Had the same thing with mine after I did the header install. Small leak around one of the clamps. I'm going to guess you also removed the AIR and EGR- check the vacumn cap on the back on the back of the intake manifold. Could be the cause of a vacumn leak.

Found the problem! One of the hangers got pushed into my x-pipe and it left a pretty good size hole in it . I hit one of those things at the gas station that you they fill the tanks with, I am pretty sure thats how it happened. Thanks for your help guys.

Haha ya its ridiculously loud. The only time I can really hear it is when a car is right beside me and in on the gas, cause it echoes i guess. I hopefully will get it patched up this weekend.

Are you going to have the hanger re-welded or getting another X-pipe?

Gonna unbolt it from the bottom of the car, bend it back, then weld the hole shut and then re weld the hanger back on. My buddy welds pretty good (on his Srt-4's and Neons) .
