firebird fog light switch in camaro

I have a Firebird dash in my Camaro, and i haven't wired the fog lights yet. I want to use the original switch, but the wires are different colors. Has anyone done this? And how, aside from trial and error?

Should be 2 wires, if so it doesn't matter how they get hooked up.

    Yellow, green, grey, brown, black.
Yellow, purple, grey, brown, black. I remember them being more different...maybe the green will wire to the purple..

Actually just wired them. The dash lights wont come on unless i connect yellow-grey or grey-brown. And the light on the switch wont come on unless its grey-purple or yellow-purple, but the the high beams turn on as well..i really hoped someone had this figured out so i could be lazy...lol
