Filters
Hey guys,
I'm going to change all the filters on my 02 Trans Am this year, (oil, fuel, air, and pcv valve). My question is is my car better served by sticking with AC Delco filters, or should I go with an aftermarket brand like Wix, fram or k&n. Currently everything in the car is pretty much AC Delco, with the exception of one of the belts and the battery. I have always been a fan of keeping it original, right down to the lubricants, but now I'm starting to wonder if the other manufacturers make something better
Thanks for your input

I currently use K&N Oil Filter and have the same air cleaner although for the last few years I am using the "Black Wing" SLP washable filter now. I have used WIX for years with my SS and before in my other cars...Never had a problem with either one? Its like anything else some products are made either cheaper or inferior then others and its sometimes just a matter of preference...Like Oil. Fuel filter I R/R with a WIX. They make good stuff I think.

Sorry. I should of been more specific.
I use kn air filter, royal purple synthetic oil, wix premium oil filters. Ac delco plugs, msd wires.
I've been working on cars for years, I do believe oem parts are best for cars that are to remain stick. But I also think that if you're going to modify your vehicle, then there are after market parts that are better then oem.
Hope it helps.

I've used AC Delco oil filters for the last 25 years ( yeeeesh I am becoming a geezer!) on my 3 GM cars that I owned in that time period, never had any problems with them for the the 489,000 combined miles of those cars.
If your worried about oil on a LS1, invest in a pcv oil catch can.
On this car, I stick with a Delco Air Filter, mostly because the MAF is too close to the AF for an oiled one.

Wix, Napa Gold (same as Wix), or Fram XG are my go to filters for the play cars. I have also run K&N and Bosch oil filters from time to time.
