Factory Alarm Going Off????
The factory alarm keeps going off randomly. It did it once yesterday and probably 10 times today. Any idea why it might be happening?

Could be a number of things. As ideas go. Could be a VATS issue, could be a trigger sensor sensitivity issue, ignition issue, door sensor issue, voltage issue..
Just thoughing stuff out there..

After googling one thing that i did was disconnect the sensor that is by the spare tire. When disconnected still had the same problem. Although the connectioin was coroded and I had to replace the connector it was still not fixed.

Read this in another forum. trying it tomorrow.
**(This is used to be quite a recurrence on my camaro until I fixed the problem.
I'm not saying its your the problem however it could be the possibility. Go take off your alarm sensor out, unplug and take it part. When I took mine apart, the contacts in the circuit were all corroded from the moisture from the previous rain/wash and humidity. I cleaned them up, alcohol/Qtip and put them together, sealed them tight w/ electrical tape and it works again like it supposed to w/o the random alarm going off.)

OK I have not had a chance to pull the sensor. My wife usually drives the car which is during daylight hours. I drove it to work this morning and noticed the interior lights would flicker from time to time and when I would come to a stop they woudl come on and stay on.
How would you go about checking the door sensors?

you can also lower the sensativity of the alarm as well...

I dont think that its a sensativity issue because I disconnected the sensor and it still happened. Unless there is another one besides the one in the back. I ordered new door switches they are cheap. Where is the rear hatch swith located? Is it in the latch mech?
Also is there anyway to turn the alarm off until I can get this fixed?

For what it's worth I took the door switches out to check them and it has not happend again since replaced.
Electrical problems are bad enough on their own and alot worse when it effects all of the neighbors at 2 in the morning.
Thanks Smittro for point in the right direction.
