Exhaust too loud.Problems all the way!
Hi,
did anyone knows how much db makes a Magnaflow catback on a 1999 Z28?
In germany the cars have a very strictly db limit. For example in my carpapers are 85 db registered. That means the absolutely limit is 90 db.I`m really f*cked up when i cant reduce the noise to max 90 db!!What can i do?
How much db can i reduce with a Apexi DECS ECV ?
And has anyone experience with this type of silencers?
----------------------
Some future Questions:
How much db makes the Pacesetter LT`s extra?
And what changes makes a Hot cam kit to the db level?

not sure . . . i haven't had much experience with them. sound level isn't really an issue where i live unless its something like open headers! i do have the magnaflow catback and i cant see that db level would be an issue with it. you really have to get on it for it to be "loud". its mostly deep, smooth, and mellow.

dood hell yeah the car will get louder...try those silencers on...i think you would have to get them welded on i part of the exhaust...might be a restriction so be prepared to lose power

Open headers is exhaust with no mufflers or cats. Just headers.
Long tub headers are the type of headers opposed to midlength or shorties.
Your pacesetters are goin to be loud depending on what exhaust you put on. I've heard the LT's sound amazing with magnaflow but i dont know how "loud" it is.

[QUOTE=Endorphin187;1270254]why would they make you test at 2600rpms? When shifting normal in my car I rarely hit 2600rpms and on the highway im right around 2000. I would try to explain that 2600rpms is not a normal cruise range and would try to get them to test it at around 2000rpms.

German rules.
300 PS @ 5200rpm in the papers, the tester says half nominalspeed when its over 5000rpm (my 2600) and when the nominalspeed is under 5000 then the test is at 3/4 nominalspeed.
