Exhaust smells like plastic is burning.

For some reason my exhaust smells like plastic is burning! i only smell it when im stopped. or behind the car. its really freakin me out!

i cant find anything it could be. Got any ideas?

Yeah, my fiance had a plastic bag melt to her catalytic converter on her Corolla and she asked me to take it off and I couldn't get all of i, so I told her to deal with it till it melted all the way off.

did i tell you about the squirrel that got trapped between my Y pipe and floor board??? kinda of smelled good after the fur got burnt off...

didn't smell so good after a few days...

I've had plastic bags stuck to 2 different exhausts and it will not come off until it burns away, I thought for sure the car was on fire.

ive looked everywhere!. all my fluid levels are fine. everything seems to be top notch. its coming from the exhaust for sure.

get a flashlight and look into the pipes to make sure some hater didnt put somthing in there.

just a thought but check your gaskets, if you bought the car from someone you never know what type os gaskets the used etc....also check your fuel tank carefully, not sure how your exhaust is set up but if it got loose or bent etc, it could be heating you fuel tank and thats bad just get under your car and check it out...

Yes. ive looked everywhere i physically can!

i did a radiator flush, oil change, transmission oil change, rear end oil change. plugs(ngk) wires(msd). and its still doing it!

its running like a champ too!. i dont think its the catalytic converters either, because it smells like burning plastic and they aren't getting to hot or anything like they normally would when they go out.

driving me crazy!
