    EVAP Code

Does this self clear after you fix the problem or do you have to get a reader or remove battery negative cable to delete the code ?

I would have to look it up. Most will self-clear after so many starts or run cycles.

It's the code that usually means the gas cap is not sealing proper.

If you don't have OBD inspections, disconnect the battery for 10 seconds.

A small leak is usually a return line on top of the tank. No danger and it will not effect the engine, it is just an EPA thing.

Forget to tighten your gas cap after your last fill-up, Scott?

No the cap cracked and had to get a replacement. I thought the code would go away after a few starts and miles but nothing yet.

Disconnect your battery for 30 min...resets the ecm to factory tables and clears the codes in the short term memory bank. Hook it back up and drive. If the issue is still present the light will come back on. For the light to clear itself it can take up to 50 keystarts.
