We are in the process of creating a kit for this. It is in the early stages but it is on the drawing board.

If you do a search, there's a write up using the start button from a honduh s2000. There's also a thread on ls1tech too

Thats pretty cool. Guess you have all the info to make it now...
I had searched and come up empty handed myself earlier in the year.

Yeah that is for sure. There are also areas to improve.
From what I see in the schematic, you will still need to have your key in the ignition and on for the button to work. That defeats the purpose of it for me personally.
A simple circuit to communicate with an RFID could be used to make the car work like all the push button cars already that do not have a key.
Like I said before, we do have this on the drawing board. We will be sure to announce our progress as we get closer to a full product.

yeah, the key in the ignition thing always bothered me too. What's the point of the button if you still have to turn the key to run? Might as well turn it a little further and start the car.

looks pretty sweet.
I would definitely buy a kit for it instead of having to look for all the parts.
So autotrix, i'll be waiting.

how about mounting a lock/unlock solinoid in the steering colum or under the dash......use it with a remote to turn power on/ off and lock/ unlock steering wheel.
that way you dont need a key, and you can have a start button mounted and use it to actually start the car

The first car we are going to test this on is My C5. I already have electronic column lock so it will be really slick.
For the F-Body we are looking into ideas like converting it. Most likely the solution will be to disconnect the ignition switch down on the column that the tumbler pushes and then just leave the ignition key in the on position so the steering wheel is always unlocked.
There is the whole safety issue but I doubt the average people installing this are really worried about that. I would imagine theft would have to be low on your list of worries also. Although if done in the way we imagine, it might actually make it harder to steal the car if the tronics are hidden properly.
Anyhow this stuff is WAY in the early stages for the F-Body. I will make sure and keep everyone posted on the C5. Once it is complete the F-Body will come next.

The steering column lock could also be disabled by modifying the lockplate or removing the lock plunger.

if you're removing the key for a starter button security has to be near the bottom of your list to begin with. Not to mention when your car gets stolen one of the first things that happens is that wheel lock gets busted. You could always put a kill switch for the fuel pump on the car.
