    engine removal....tomorrow.

So tomorrow ill be removing my engine from underneath....i dont have a lift so ill have to figure out what to use once i see what all my dad has at his house. ill bring the engine back to my garage and put it on a stand, replace the bearings and perhaps the crank, oil pump and timing chain. maybe more, depending on what the ol lady allows me to spend. what have you guys used to remove the engine when a lift wasnt available?

Hope you have something that will get the car high enough to get the front end out from under it. I was looking at doing that to mine, and do it in my garage, but figured I needed something to lift it up about 4 feet.

Yes, but if that doesn't clear it you could pull off the rear wheels and lower the rear of the car. But a tall enough jack like a 3 ton will do the trick.

so i got the car to my dads house, but the rain hindered me from working on it.

engine bay as of current...it will look totally different when im done

this is the air jack i will use to lift the car...i will remove the front bumper cover to make sure not to damage it.

and im sure someone will wonder what the truck is...40something dodge 4x4..my dad is restoring it for the county comissioner....

Why are you doing work to your engine? With that air jack it should be a breeze to life the front end high enough

The air jack should be enough. I used a engine hoist to lift it high enough to clear the motor.
