Engine Prob # 2
OK guys I took out the IAT sensor, and just like I thought it was NOT the problem? Now the RPMs are at 500 in neutral and the car almost stalls out when stopped, shakes at low speeds, and the SERVICE ENGINE light also came on(bad smell coming from the rear end also) . luckily I was only 1 mile away from home. I was thinking about reseting the PCM next. would this help, next stop is the mechanic, luckily I have a 2 year extended warranty. Also has anyone recieved any shit from thier dealership about aftermarket air box's voiding thier warranty??
Any suggestions
JR.

have you checked for a dirty maf? but that wouldnt explain the nasty smell. look for bad plugs or O2 sensors. thats all i got sorry man.

You really need to get any code(s) read to help pinpoint the problem. Resetting the PCM might help temporarily but will also clear any stored codes. Most dealerships won't give you grief for the lid, but I'd put a stock paper filter in it if you're running an oiled one.

My guess is that one of the 02 sensors has gone bad, and that would explain the gas smell and the SES light most likely.
If it turns out not to be the 02 sensor, like Shady mentioned, look into your plugs and MAF

Yeah thats what I thought. It seems like the car just doesnt have enough power-feels like a battery problem since the car keeps fading in and out. Warranty wont cover battery replacement right?

Enigine Prob #2
The thing is I dont want to drive it like in this condition. It feels like its going to cut off at every stop-light (RPM's around 500 or below) and sometimes it jerks alittle. Auto zone is like 20 miles from my home. I am gonna have it towed via. AAA tomorrow to my local dealership since I have a 5 year extended warranty and the tow is free form AAA.

Sounds more and more like a bad 02 sensor. Had this happen to me once in my vert, the 02 went bad and the car was gutless. At low RPMs it stumbled, stuttered and wanted to die. But if I was to get up on the highway in the upper RPM range, it was completely fine. I am 95% sure the 02 sensor is going to be your culprit.
